Feasibility study on Malt Barley production under contract farming.

Shayashone plc collaborated with GIZ, Kegna Beverage, and Brewtech GmbH to conduct a feasibility study on Malt Barley Production Under Contract Farming.

The purpose of the feasibility study was to assess the viability of establishing Malt Barley contract farming for Kegna beverages, which is a new beverage company under construction in the West Shewa zone, Ginchi Town of Oromia national regional state. The study was commissioned by GIZ, supervised by Brewtech, and organized by Shayashone plc. The workshop was held at Best Western Hotel, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to discuss the finding of the study where representatives from Minister of Agriculture (MoA), different bureaus from Oromia regional state and other stakeholders were present. The workshop's objective was to present the feasibility study findings and discuss the overall investment plan with the concerned parties and other partners to validate the plan. The workshop created a space for all the parties to provide their feedback and comment on the outcome of the study.
