USAID is one of our main partners in promoting and distributing PICS hermetic grain storage bags in over 42 Weredas parts of the country.

PICS commercialization for household food security and job opportunity for youth; is a three-years (July, 2018- July 2021) sub-grant project by USAID under Feed the Future Ethiopia Value Chain Activities. The project has four major pillars: supply chain management, extension and demonstration, market development and knowledge transfer. In this project, it was possible to reach more than 500,000 households at the project’s target Woredas located in Oromia, Amhara, SNNPR, and Tigray region. Since the project initiation Shayashone was able to sale more than 1.5 million PICS bags in theses project intervention Woredas. During this last quarter there have been two main events that were organized by FtFE-VCA.

The first event was a Road Show campaign which was conducted at Jimma, Kaffa, Wollega and Gojam Zones starting from February 3, 2021 to promote PICS bags, and Shayashone was one of the three hermetic bag distributer companies that participated in this campaign. The HST road show was a big success in promoting and creating awareness on use of hermetic storage technology.
