Established in 2010 by two young visionary Ethiopian entrepreneurs, Shayashone (SYS) PLC derived its name from two rivers, Shaya and Shone which are found in Bale and Jimma respectively.

SYS’s journey of success spans over a decade, during which it has implemented successful projects. This remarkable trajectory includes the training of more than 7000 agriculture extension workers and the arrangement of agriculture technology demonstrations in over 10,000 villages across Ethiopia. At the heart of the accomplishments lies the Hermetic Storage Technology (Purdue Improved Crop Storage (PICS) bags), a pioneering solution that has gained widespread acceptance as the most successful technology penetration to prevent post- harvest losses.
