The event brought together the 29 semi-finalists, representatives from the four universities, and stakeholders, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the African Agribusiness Academy, the Ethiopian Institute of Agriculture Research, Center for International Private Enterprise, Gebeya Inc., Development Bank of Ethiopia, Cooperative Bank of Oromia and others.
Highlights of the event included a presentation on the YCF journey from its start to its conclusion, reflecting on the challenges, opportunities, and lessons learned along the way. Moreover, engaging plenary discussions explored the realities of entrepreneurship, especially in agriculture, emphasizing the untapped potential of the youth and the importance of collaboration among different entities such as governmental, non-governmental, and financial institutions. The ceremony concluded with the announcement of the top 12 finalists, who will receive financial awards to kick-start their businesses and benefit from business development support provided by the project.
